The picture shows the colours of the Company's uniform. Cobalt blue coats are worn.
Historically shades of blue were the preferred coat colours for the servants of local magnates
in Leicestershire, thus it was that both Sir Henry Hastings’ Regiment and
Lord Grey's Regiment for
Parliament, both Leicestershire units, wore blue. The lining is simple calico. The breeches colour is given as a mustard-tan with blue ties and again lined in calico or white cotton. Hose to be white. |
